Another Blog for Church Webmasters

In my wanderings this past week, I happened across a blog that’s right up my alley: Faithful Web: Tips for Better Church Websites, Marketing & Communication.
The way I found it was wild. I was reading a post about blogging, and as I scrolled down, happened to notice a “Recent Reader” with a blog name much like mine. (I didn’t even realize I noticed “Recent Readers.” I thought I totally tuned out unrelated icons in sidebars. I guess I need to figure out how this works. But that’s an aside.)
It turns out Faithful Web is written for Catholic webmasters and web teams by a SEO (search engine optimization) professional. Not surprisingly, I particularly like his SEO posts, such as Recap: Chicago Search Engine Strategies Conference. He also links to some helpful Catholic resources. I’m really looking forward to reading more of these posts, and learning about what’s going on in the Catholic web world.

Anna Belle — Thanks for the plug. You have a great design and helpful resources for church webmasters. Your post about Wordpress for churches, http://www.faithandweb.com/?p=33, is intriguing and thorough. I’ve just subscribed to your RSS feed.
Many thanks, Mark. While I’ve done a lot in the general website world, blogging is newer to me. The programming part is a breeze, but the sociology of how it works is amazing — connecting with folks with similar interests through pings, comments, trackbacks, etc. I’m so glad we’ve connected.
