A Church Web Diva’s 7 Silver Rules

One on my primary reasons for writing this blog is to figure out how to be a better church webmaster. To that end I’ve been formulating a list of things to aspire to, and this evening seems as good a time as any to go live with them.
- Love your church, warts and all.
- Love your church’s website with a passion.
- Listen carefully to users.
- Nag contributors nicely. (It’s all about the content.)
- Keep the code simple and clean.
- Nurture a team.
- Don’t take yourself seriously, but do love yourself, warts and all.
It’s all in the doing, isn’t it?

Lovely!
And now for the 7 rules about email lists, which often fall under the domain of the webmaster:
1) Don’t have a church email list

;) Struggling with the “but whyyyy can’t I post anything I want on the official church announcements list …”
LOL! Lizard Eater — you’ll never hear me saying “Love your church email list.” For me, this comes under #6 — nurture the team. My co-webmistress handles our official email list — a thousand thank-yous to him.
