		<description>Great question, John.  I was surprised by this too.  My best guess is it has to do with the big push to get the iPhone out the door by June 29.   They want developers to use Safari 3 as platform for apps on the iPhone (as I understand things).  Since lots of developers are on Windows, this gives them an easy way to test.</description>

I understand that releasing betas offers lots of benefits in user feedback, but I&#039;m surprised that it&#039;s a version so unstable that it can&#039;t even remain loaded!
